Suzlon Energy shares rose over 3 percent on Monday morning after the Pune-based firm said its subsidiary REpower UK has won two new contracts to supply wind turbines that will generate a total of 16.4 mega watt power.
The company will supply four MM82 turbines to a new wind farm at Wear Point in Pembrokeshire, South Wales and four MM92 turbines to Avonmouth Wind Farm located at the Bristol sewage treatment works in south west England.
Construction at both the wind farms will begin in the summer this year and will be completed by the end of 2013, Suzlon said.
Wear Point and Avonmouth wind farms will have a rated output of 8.2mw each, enough to generate power for nearly 5,000 homes, it added.
At 9:45 hrs, Suzlon shares were at Rs 18.95 on NSE, up 3 percent.
